As part of our commitment to bringing our customers up to the minute technology Farnell InOne are proud to introduce the latest range of USB On-the-Go (OTG) compatible connector products from Molex, Including Mini-AB PCB receptacles and a Mini-A-to-Mini-B plug cable assembly.

These connectors, together with Molex's existing Mini-B OTG connectors can be used to enable mobile devices such as digital cameras, PDAs, audio players, printers and cellular phones to exchange data directly without the need for a host PC. The new OTG technology also enables mobile products to become "dual-role" devices, serving as either host or peripheral.

Molex's Mini-AB and Mini-B pcb receptacles are available in SMT and through-hole styles with solder tabs or metal retention pegs. All versions are shielded for EMI protection, with a detent lock and grounding fingers for secure mating retention.

Molex's new Mini-A-to-Mini-B plug cable assembly comes in a standard one-meter white design. Overmold areas are an oval shape for Mini-A plug and square shape for Mini-B. The Mini-AB PCB receptacles will accept either Mini-A or Mini-B plugs. All Molex OTG connectors operate at speeds up to 480 Mbps per the USB 2.0 specification, and are tested up to 5,000 mating cycles. They are rated at 30V and 1.0 amperes.
